چکیده
During a Severe Accident (SA) occurring in nuclear power plant, many Fission Products (FP) are released from the degraded fuel and transported Reactor Coolant System (RCS). Depending on their volatility, FP can be either deposited surface of (RCS) or into containment building where they may environment case early failure. This was for Fukushima Daiichi (FD) accident with important releases which were observed following vessel failure lasted up to several weeks after accident. If phase well predicted by SA simulation codes, delayed not correctly [1]. Such discrepancies attributed revaporization deposits inside RCS yet modeled tools. Previous experiments over past 20 years evidenced possible formation CsI [2]. However, now, no clear mechanism has been determined. In order propose mechanism, this study (scheduled within OECD/NEA/ESTER project) aims at determining speciation each species remaining substrate tests under different conditions using XPS ToF-SIMS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy Time Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry. These two combined techniques allow identification main residue leading proposition reactions.

Laser-heating and Radiance Spectrometry for the Study of Nuclear Materials in Conditions Simulating a Nuclear Power Plant Accident
Major and severe accidents have occurred three times in nuclear power plants (NPPs), at Three Mile Island (USA, 1979), Chernobyl (former USSR, 1986) and Fukushima (Japan, 2011). Research on the causes, dynamics, and consequences of these mishaps has been performed in a few laboratories worldwide in the last three decades. Common goals of such research activities are: the prevention of these kin...
متن کاملSurface Characterization of Polymer Blends by XPS and ToF-SIMS
The surface properties of polymer blends are important for many industrial applications. The physical and chemical properties at the surface of polymer blends can be drastically different from those in the bulk due to the surface segregation of the low surface energy component. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and time-of-flight secondary mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) have been widely used...
متن کاملThermodynamicsof vaporization of fission products and materials under severe reactor accident conditions
Vaporization of fission products and certain other materials is estimated for the extreme environmental conditions projected for severe reactor accidents. Partial pressures of gaseous species are calculated from thermochemical data or estimates. Mounts of vapor transported material are evaluated from projected gas flows during two phases of a hypothetical accident--( a) core dry out phase and (...
متن کاملBehavior of Radioactive Cesium in Municipal Solid Waste of Thermal Treatment Plants after Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Accident – 16626
Municipal solid waste (MSW) contaminated by radioactive cesium (r-Cs) has been treated by various thermal treatment facilities in Japan. However, the behavior of r-Cs in their plants is scarcely known. Therefore, we investigated 4 types of the thermal treatment plants to understand the r-Cs behavior during different thermal treatments of the MSW. The distribution of r-Cs between residue dischar...
